New Horizons in International Education: Dual Degree Partnership with George Mason University

In line with its strategic internationalization vision, Sakarya University has expanded its global academic partnerships by hosting Dr. J.K. Aier, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Global Engagement at the Costello College of Business, George Mason University. During the high-level consultative meetings, key academic initiatives were extensively addressed, including Dual Degree programs, joint micro-credential certificate courses, Erasmus+ and TÜBİTAK collaborative projects, online and hybrid education frameworks, and Free-Mover mobility schemes. Conducted across the Rectorate, International Office, Faculty of Business, and Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, these discussions represent a significant milestone in fortifying Sakarya University's global academic network.

As one of the most strategic agenda items, the proposed Dual Degree programs directly advance Sakarya University’s internationalization mandate by offering students the opportunity to gain expertise across two distinct academic cultures of international prestige. This collaborative model enhances the global competitiveness of graduates in the international labor market, raises institutional academic standards, and establishes a robust foundation for joint scientific research. Sakarya University remains firmly committed to fostering innovative global educational pathways and constructing enduring international bridges for both students and researchers.
