What is Eurodesk?

Eurodesk is an international information network that provides information and guidance on European opportunities for young people. Its main objective is to ensure that young people have equal and accurate access to education, youth, and volunteering programs in Europe. Eurodesk is not a grant or funding program; its primary role is to inform and guide young people about mobility opportunities such as Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps (ESC), and similar European initiatives.

Within the scope of Eurodesk, young people are provided with up-to-date and reliable information on studying abroad, youth exchanges, volunteering activities, internship opportunities, and intercultural learning. Information is mostly delivered through face-to-face counseling, information meetings, workshops, and visits to schools and universities. Additionally, wider audiences are reached through brochures, social media posts, and digital content. Eurodesk aims to convey information in a simple and understandable language, helping young people navigate complex application processes more easily.

Eurodesk services are primarily aimed at young people between the ages of 13 and 30. However, youth workers, teachers, academics, and non-governmental organizations can also benefit from Eurodesk. Eurodesk does not directly write projects or distribute grants; it directs young people to the right programs, introduces opportunities, and provides information on application procedures.

Eurodesk is a widespread network operating in more than 36 European countries. In Türkiye, Eurodesk activities are carried out under the coordination of the Turkish National Agency. There are 148 Eurodesk Contact Points in 70 provinces. These contact points are located in universities, municipalities, youth centers, and various institutions. They provide free counseling services to young people in their cities and organize local information activities.

The core objectives of Eurodesk include ensuring equal access to information, increasing youth participation in European programs, encouraging international experiences, and strengthening the sense of active citizenship. Eurodesk works as a structure that supports young people not only in going abroad but also in getting to know different cultures, taking social responsibility, and improving themselves.

In short, Eurodesk is an information gateway to European opportunities for young people. It makes opportunities like Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps more understandable, ensures young people reach the right information, and encourages them to make informed decisions while planning their futures.
