The Rector of Sakarya University, Prof. Dr. Hamza Al, participated in the 3rd Turkey-Uzbekistan Education Forum, held on September 27-28, 2024, hosted by Istanbul Technical University (ITU), with the aim of strengthening higher education collaborations between Turkey and Uzbekistan.
During the forum, Rector Al signed cooperation protocols with universities in Uzbekistan, focusing on mutual benefits in research and development, education, and socio-cultural activities. These protocols, signed between Sakarya University (SAÜ) and Bukhara State University, Namangan Institute of Textile Industry, and Bukhara Engineering Technology Institute, aim to facilitate joint projects, training programs, workshops, symposiums, and panels. Additionally, they plan to promote the exchange of academic and administrative staff, as well as students, and to advance activities in R&D, design, production, and product development.

The two-day forum included keynote speeches, followed by sessions attended by the rectors of universities from Turkey and Uzbekistan. The discussions covered topics such as “Sustainable Development: The New Agenda for Higher Education Institutions,” “The Transformation of Higher Education: Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence,” “Cooperation Between Turkish and Uzbek Higher Education Institutions,” and “Development Focused on High Technology: The Role of Engineering Education.”
