Sakarya University proudly concluded its 2nd International Staff Week held from June 23–27, 2025, under the powerful theme:
“Shaping Global Dialogue Through Education and Innovation: Erasmus+ Sustainability Interchanges.”
This landmark event brought together visionary academics, administrators, and researchers from four continents, representing a vibrant mosaic of higher education institutions united by a shared commitment to global collaboration, sustainable development, and academic excellence.
Global Participation, Shared Vision
With enthusiastic delegates from countries including Ukraine, Colombia, Ethiopia, Iran, Bulgaria, Jordan, Palestine, Kazakhstan, and Poland, the week became a true celebration of intercultural dialogue and knowledge exchange. Distinguished representatives showcased their institutions’ best practices in internationalization, innovation, and partnership building.
Sessions such as:
“International Collaboration: Best Practices for Universities”
“Entrepreneurship and Innovation in University Ecosystems”
“Innovative AI Tools in Higher Education”
“Empowerment Through Erasmus+ Projects”
left a lasting impression and opened new avenues for academic cooperation and joint Erasmus+ initiatives.
Innovation, Research, and Capacity Building
The program featured a comprehensive blend of panels, institutional presentations, and thematic workshops, with a special focus on sustainability, digital transformation, and inclusive project design.
One of the most impactful segments was the “Future Project Planning Workshop”, where participants formed interdisciplinary working groups to ideate new Erasmus+ KA2 proposals—emphasizing practical project-based education, digital learning tools, and equitable North-South collaboration frameworks.
Beyond academic exchange, participants were treated to the natural and cultural beauty of Sakarya and its surroundings. From a welcoming dinner by Lake Sapanca, to canoe and dragon boat adventures, and a memorable farewell breakfast, the event offered a deeply enriching experience that blended hospitality, culture, and camaraderie.
Campus tours, visits to advanced laboratories and language centers, and evenings filled with Turkish cuisine and music brought the international guests closer to Türkiye’s rich academic and cultural landscape.
As certificates were presented and goodbyes exchanged, the overwhelming sentiment was one of gratitude, hope, and renewed purpose. New bilateral agreements were initiated, Erasmus+ partnerships strengthened, and a strong global network was formed—one that will undoubtedly carry forward the spirit of this unforgettable week.
