Cooperation Meeting with the Delegation from Prince of Songkla-PSA, Thailand and Sakarya University

Sakarya, Türkiye – 10 April 2025

Sakarya University proudly hosted a high-level academic delegation from Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand, led by Asst. Prof. Muhammadrorfee-E Musor, in a visit aimed at enhancing international collaboration and building strong academic partnerships.

The delegation was warmly received by the International Office team and members of the Sociology Department at Sakarya University. A key highlight of the visit was a formal meeting held with SAU Rector Prof. Dr. Hamza Al, accompanied by distinguished university leaders including Prof. Dr. İrfan Haşlak (Dean of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences), Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kemal ŞanProf. Dr. Samir Afifi (Erasmus+ KA2 Project Coordinator), Dr. Tuba Tatar, and several academic staff from relevant departments.

The visit focused on identifying mutual areas of academic interest and discussing strategic cooperation plans across various fields. The productive discussions concluded with a shared commitment to establish long-term academic and cultural collaboration.

 

Key Outcomes of the Meeting Included:

  • Initiating the process of developing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.

  • Discussing the inclusion of Prince of Songkla University in the upcoming International Credit Mobility (ICM) projects.

  • Extending a formal invitation to PSU faculty to attend the SAU International Staff Week in June 2025.

  • Exploring joint participation in Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects under the Erasmus+ Programme.

 

This meeting reflects the institutions’ shared vision of advancing global academic cooperation and strengthening their role in the international higher education landscape. Both Sakarya University and Prince of Songkla University look forward to future collaborations that contribute to innovation in education, joint research excellence, and intercultural engagement.
