September Highlights – Sakarya University International Office Weekly Meeting Updates
Throughout September 2024, the Sakarya University International Office Coordination held several important meetings to discuss developments and plan upcoming initiatives. On September 12, 2024, the focus was on reviewing staff responsibilities and issuing notifications. Plans were set for the “Centralized Projects” meeting on October 23, 2024, with invitations to be sent to universities and stakeholders. Meal arrangements were coordinated with SKS, and discussions about new regulations for foreign student tuition and ErasmusDays activities were held. The team also assigned tasks for orientation sessions and upcoming international visits.
The September 16, 2024 meeting focused on distributing responsibilities for organizing university events and managing international projects. New assistant coordinators for Erasmus+ and international student affairs were appointed, and the need for additional staff at the International Student Center was discussed. YÖS application changes were reviewed, and approval was granted for a staff member’s visit to Jordan.
During the September 23, 2024 meeting, the team worked on accelerating the Orhun Exchange Program by reviewing the processes of other exchange programs. Coordination with BAUM for updating the International Office website was planned. Final preparations for the “Centralized Projects” meeting were made, and participants for Erasmus+ events throughout the year were selected.
In the final meeting of the month on September 30, 2024, the team finalized plans for the “Yıldızlar Ligi: Erasmus+ Centralized Projects Meeting” and drafted official invitation letters. Post-event surveys were sent to participants of the KA2 training program, and Nurbanu Bulgur was approved to represent the university at the KA171 Project Management Meeting on October 15, 2024. Support requests for administrative staff participating in Erasmus+ mobility programs were also discussed. Dr. Nurcan Kostak was appointed as the acting coordinator from October 7–29, 2024, during the International Office Coordinator’s absence abroad. The team confirmed participation in various events, including the “University Life Orientation” and ESC Youth and Sports Projects. Lastly, the office adopted an eco-friendly approach by replacing individual paper logs with a bound logbook for document handovers.
