December Highlights: Updates from Sakarya University International Office Meetings
Key Events and Initiatives
The International Office at Sakarya University has been actively involved in various initiatives throughout December, focusing on international collaborations, project planning, and supporting student and staff mobility.
Key Highlights
• Erasmus and YÖS Updates:
Discussions were held on Erasmus student mobility exams planned with SAÜSEM. Improvements to the Erasmus Exam Directive and expansion of YÖS quotas for certain departments were finalized.
YÖS registration processes concluded, and residency procedures for international students are underway.
• Event Planning and Participation:
Preparations for key events, such as the KA152 and ESC30 Project Writing Training, Erasmus Briefing Meeting, and Jean Monnet Information Meetings held from 25–27 December, were successfully completed.
Participation in TRT Avaz’s “Turkic World Universities” program and discussions regarding the Maarif Foundation’s fairs were also prioritized.
• International Collaborations:
Plans were finalized for a high-level visit to Jordan from 4–7 January 2025 to establish agreements and explore project partnerships.
• Operational Enhancements:
The office introduced plans to develop financial units within the EBYS system for KA2 projects. Templates for academics managing projects will also be added to the office’s website.
A self-assessment survey was conducted to identify areas for improvement and align operations with internal control standards.
• Engaging Potential Partners:
A meeting on the potential of ESC projects in Eskişehir was reviewed, highlighting actionable steps to address identified gaps in the office’s project framework.
