Great Success from Our Students: “Youth Alliance Against Cyberbullying” Project Wins Grant Support

The project titled “Youth Alliance Against Cyberbullying,” developed by Sakarya University students, has been granted funding under the European Solidarity Corps - Solidarity Projects (ESC30-SOL). Out of 453 applications, this project was one of the 32 selected and received a grant of €9,204. It is the only project from Sakarya University to be awarded this support.

The project, coordinated by Yusuf Buğra KILIÇ and mentored by Öğr. Gör. Sadık DEMİRBAĞ, will continue for 12 months. Its goal is to raise awareness about cyberbullying and help nurture young people as informed individuals in the digital world, while promoting social awareness in the fight against cyberbullying.

The project will include comprehensive training programs on cybersecurity and cyberbullying to raise participants’ awareness of potential threats in the digital world. Awareness activities will be conducted at Sakarya University, Düzce University, Kocaeli University, Uludağ University, Marmara University, and Istanbul Technical University, reaching a broad academic community. Additionally, digital security workshops, awareness campaigns, and solidarity networks will be created to strengthen individuals against cyber threats. Special efforts will be made to protect women from cyberbullying, and effective solutions will be developed. In collaboration with academics and students, policy recommendations on combating cyberbullying will be created, and the findings and suggestions will be presented to the Turkish Ministry of Interior and the Directorate of Communications, contributing to national decision-making processes.

The project aims to increase cybersecurity awareness, help raise young people as conscious individuals in the digital world, establish support mechanisms for victims of cyberbullying, and promote digital security by strengthening social solidarity.
